Albers’ Scholars Complete Media Internships
The University of Nebraska at Omaha named Matt SantaMaria and Scott Stewart the 2009-2010 recipients of the Albers Communications Group Media Internship Scholarships.
Each academic year, the University's School of Communication awards two scholarships to students who are completing news media internships. Albers Communications Group funds these scholarships.
In the fall of 2009, SantaMaria was a broadcasting intern at KETV, the ABC news affiliate in Omaha. The former college baseball player's passion is to pursue a career in sports broadcasting. SantaMaria, who graduated this May with a Broadcast News degree, works for Cox Communications, NRG Media and the Omaha Beef.
This semester, Stewart was a news intern with the Bellevue Leader, a newspaper in the Omaha World-Herald family. Stewart, who also graduated in May with degrees in Computer Science and Math, a minor in Physics and concentration in Journalism, has accepted a job with the Omaha World-Herald.
